🆔 KYC / Identity Verification

GalaxyGrails.io is committed to maintaining a safe and compliant marketplace. Before value leaves the Platform, whether that's a withdrawal of your Account Funds or a transfer of cards to your PSA Vault account, you must complete identity verification (KYC) through Stripe Identity.

You don't need to verify to sign up, buy packs, follow channels, or chat. You verify when you're ready to cash out or move cards.

When verification is required​

  • Withdrawals. Identity verification is required before every withdrawal. If your verification has lapsed, you'll be asked to complete it again before you can withdraw.
  • Vault transfers. Verification is required before every PSA Vault transfer, without exception.
  • First Pack Covered. The First Pack Covered offer is only available to verified accounts.
  • Validity. Once you are successfully verified, your verification is valid for approximately three (3) years. After that period, you will need to re-verify in order to continue withdrawing or transferring cards.
  • Additional verification. We may require re-verification at any time if we reasonably suspect fraud, unauthorized account access, a change in account ownership, or as otherwise required for legal or regulatory compliance. GalaxyGrails.io may also require verification before other account activity where we determine it is necessary for compliance or fraud prevention.

If you try to withdraw or start a vault transfer before you're verified, you'll be sent to the verification page first. The check takes about two to three minutes.

18+ and U.S. confirmation​

GalaxyGrails.io is for people 18 and older located in the United States.

  • At your first purchase, you'll be asked to tick a box confirming you are at least 18 years old and located in the U.S. You only need to do this once; we record your confirmation on your account.
  • At identity verification, Stripe reads the date of birth on your ID. If your ID shows you are under 18, the account is closed to purchases, withdrawals, vault transfers, and chat. You can still sign in, reach support, and manage your email preferences. Your earlier checkbox confirmation doesn't override what your ID shows.

What you'll need​

Verification is conducted through Stripe Identity, a third-party service. You'll need:

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID card, or passport); and
  • A device with a camera, to photograph your ID and take a live selfie.

Every verification includes the live selfie, which Stripe compares against the photo on your ID. The person verifying has to be the person on the ID. The selfie must be taken live with your camera, without filters or edits.

GalaxyGrails.io does not store copies of your identity documents or your selfie. That information is processed and retained by Stripe Identity under Stripe's privacy policy and Stripe Identity's data-handling practices. What we keep is the result of the check (whether your ID is genuine and matches you, whether you are 18 or older, and why an attempt failed, if it did) and a scrambled reference that lets us recognize the same person or ID if it is used to verify another account. That reference can't be turned back into your details, and we don't keep your date of birth or ID number. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

One verified identity per person​

Each person can verify one GalaxyGrails.io account. If the ID you submit is already verified on another GalaxyGrails.io account, the new account can't be verified. If you think this is a mistake, open a ticket or email [email protected] and we'll take a look. We won't tell you which other account holds the ID.

Possible outcomes​

  • Approved. Once your identity is verified, you can withdraw the eligible part of your Account Funds (see Account Funds) and transfer cards to your PSA Vault account, subject to the Terms of Service.
  • In review. Stripe sometimes needs a few minutes to review your submission. The verification page updates on its own when Stripe finishes.
  • Action needed. If an attempt couldn't be completed (for example, a blurry photo, an expired ID, or a selfie that didn't match), the verification page tells you what went wrong and lets you try again. Make sure your ID is well lit, fully in frame, and not expired.
  • Not eligible. If your ID shows you are under 18, or the ID is already verified on another account, you can't retry with the same ID. Contact [email protected] if you believe the result is wrong.
  • Fraudulent or Misrepresented Information. Submitting false, altered, or another person's identity documents is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in immediate account suspension or termination and referral to law enforcement.

Until you're verified, you can't withdraw funds or transfer cards to your PSA Vault account. Everything else on the Platform works as usual.

Biometric privacy​

The live-selfie step involves collection of biometric identifiers and biometric information solely for the purpose of verifying your identity against your photo ID. Residents of Illinois (BIPA), Texas (CUBI), and Washington are given specific notice and consent rights. See Section 4 of the Terms of Service for the full biometric-privacy notices.

If you do not consent to the collection of biometric data, you may choose not to complete identity verification; in that case, you will be unable to withdraw funds or transfer cards to your own PSA Vault account.

Data deletion​

You may request deletion of your verification data by contacting [email protected] or by contacting Stripe directly at [email protected]. Deletion may be delayed or declined where retention is required by law.
