🎟️ Breaks
A Break is the core live experience on GalaxyGrails.io. Each Break is one shared pool of real graded cards, with one card per pull, and every card is a real Pokémon card graded by PSA. Every card is Secured by PSA Vault.
Pool size varies by Break. Some run large pools and others run smaller ones, and the exact card count is always shown on the Break's page.
One pull per purchase. Each purchase buys a single pull from the pool. There is no multi-buy quantity selector. Buy again if you want another.
Looking for cards that never run out, with odds you see before you buy? That is a Pack.
Every pull opens on the stage for the whole room to see, is drawn by Chainlink VRF, and can be sold back for up to 90% of its value. See Break fairness and Buyback.
A standard Break ends automatically when the remaining expected value (EV) drops below a set percentage of the Break's starting EV. Once enough of the pool's value has been pulled out, the Break closes instead of running the tail dry. Where inventory and scheduling allow, a new Break follows so collectors can keep opening.
Some Breaks also run a visible countdown. On a standard Break, each purchase resets it. If the countdown runs out, the Break ends, and any purchase that has not been opened yet is refunded to your wallet (points you spent on it come back as points).
Buying a pull
Tap Buy to open the purchase sheet. A Pack and a Break use the same sheet. It shows the price and any discount, and lets you pay without leaving the show:
- Points apply first, if you switch them on and have enough to redeem. See Points.
- Your wallet balance covers the next part.
- A saved card covers whatever is left. The card is charged that gap (at least $1.00) plus a card processing fee, and the charge goes into your wallet to pay for this purchase. You can save up to three cards, or add a new one right in the sheet. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment in its app or with a code.
The sheet lists every line before you pay. The first time you buy, you'll be asked to confirm that you are at least 18 and located in the U.S. If the Break ends after your card is charged, the money stays in your wallet, and the card processing fee is not refunded. See Account Funds for how your wallet works.
Break formats
Breaks come in two formats. In both, the cards are real PSA-graded cards, the randomness comes from the same Chainlink VRF-backed selection method (see Break fairness), and Buyback works the same way. The format's label appears on the tile and in the purchase sheet (for example, "$25 Head-to-Head").
Standard
The default. Pulls open automatically as people buy them, one at a time in the order they were bought, with each card revealed live for the whole community to see. As lower-value cards are revealed, the remaining pulls become "primed", meaning the odds of hitting a higher-value chase card increase as the Break progresses. Most Breaks on the platform are standard.
Head-to-Head
A Head-to-Head is a two-seat Break. It pits two cards against each other and sells two pulls, one per buyer. When the second pull sells, both cards are revealed side by side in a single moment, and each buyer gets one of the two. Look for the Head-to-Head label on the Break's page.
Head-to-Heads usually run on a countdown. If it runs out before the second pull sells, the Break ends and the first buyer's purchase is canceled, with the amount paid returned to their wallet.
Retired formats
Sellout Breaks and Coin Flips are retired. No new ones can be created. Any that were already live finish exactly as they were sold, including opens, refunds and history.
For Breaks hosted by a partnered creator, see Channels.
💎 Real Graded Pokémon Cards
Every pull is a professionally graded and authenticated Pokémon card, with no digital placeholders or replicas. Each card is certified by PSA, ensuring quality and authenticity recognized across the collecting community.
We do not grade cards ourselves and make no guarantees regarding third-party grading accuracy.
🛡️ Buyer Protection
On standard Breaks that have it turned on, whether global or on a Channel, a short Buyer Protection window opens automatically late in the Break, once the remaining expected value crosses a high-value threshold. During this window, only buyers who had already bought a minimum number of pulls in the current Break can continue purchasing. The threshold and the number of pulls you need are shown in the Break's info panel, and a progress bar shows how close you are to qualifying.
The Buyer Protection countdown is visible to everyone on the Break's page so the whole community can see how long the window is open. Each eligible purchase extends the timer. When the window expires, or if all chase cards are pulled, the Break ends or returns to its normal flow.
While the window is open, a short cooldown applies between purchases so no single buyer can rapid-fire the remaining pulls. If you buy again too quickly you'll be told how many seconds are left.
Buyer Protection engages at most once per Break, and eligibility is fixed at the moment it engages. Pulls you bought before the window opened are what qualify you.
The goal is simple: people who took on the variance early in a Break shouldn't get sniped at the end by drive-by buyers waiting for the pool to flush. Your odds during the window are no different from any other moment in the Break. Only the buyer pool is restricted.
Buyer Protection applies to standard Breaks only. A Head-to-Head has its own end-state behavior built into the format.
Recent Pulls
Recent Pulls is one feed, newest first. Each row carries a label with the price and the kind, for example "$250 Break".
