🎟️ Live Pack Events
A Live Pack Event is the core experience on GalaxyGrails.io. Each event includes a fixed number of graded cards (usually 100–200), with one card per pack, and every pack contains a real graded Pokémon card from PSA, CGC, or BGS, securely stored in our Delaware vault.
To maintain fairness, events automatically end when the remaining expected value (EV) falls below the pack price based on preset thresholds. Once an event concludes, a new event is automatically generated (if inventory allows), ensuring that collectors can continue opening packs as long as stock is available.
Event formats
GalaxyGrails.io runs the same underlying pack-event mechanic in a few different formats. In all of them, the cards are real PSA/CGC/BGS-graded cards, the randomness is the same Chainlink VRF-backed system, and Buyback rights work the same way — only the reveal flow changes.
Standard
The default. Packs open immediately as users buy them, with each card revealed live for the whole community to see. As lower-value cards are revealed, the remaining packs become "primed" — meaning the odds of hitting a higher-value chase card increase as the event progresses. Most events on the platform are standard.
Sellout Break
A Sellout Break holds every purchased pack until the event fills, then opens all packs in order of purchase in one bulk reveal. The event page shows a live progress card — for example, "3 / 10 sold" — and flips to "Filled · opening packs in order" once the last pack sells. Tap the progress card to see the live list of buyers who've already entered.
The format recreates the energy of an in-person card break: one shared moment, no drive-by buys at the end, and the fill itself is part of the show.
Showdown
A Showdown uses the same fill-then-reveal mechanic as a Sellout Break, but the final reveal is a single dramatic moment — all cards flip in a unified animation rather than rolling through the queue one at a time. Look for the Showdown label on the event page.
For events hosted by a partnered creator who controls the timing of reveals, see Streamer Events.
💎 Real Graded Pokémon Cards
Every pack includes a professionally graded and authenticated Pokémon card — no digital placeholders or replicas. Each card is certified by PSA, CGC, or BGS, ensuring quality and authenticity recognized across the collecting community.
We do not grade cards ourselves and make no guarantees regarding third-party grading accuracy.
🛡️ Buyer Protection
On standard global events, once the remaining expected value of the event crosses a high-value threshold, a short Buyer Protection window opens automatically. During this window, only buyers who already participated in the current event can continue purchasing packs.
The Buyer Protection countdown is visible to everyone on the event page so the whole community can see how long the window is open. Each eligible purchase extends the timer; when the window expires (or if all chase cards are pulled), the event ends or returns to its normal flow.
The goal is simple: people who took on the variance early in an event shouldn't get sniped at the end by drive-by buyers waiting for the deck to flush. Your odds during the window are no different from any other moment in the event — only the buyer pool is restricted.
Buyer Protection applies to standard events only. Sellout Breaks and Showdowns have their own end-state behavior built into the format (everyone who bought before the fill is locked in by definition).
